Fascia Work with Lucy – A Roll Model Method® Class

This class introduces self-myofascial release using the Roll Model Method®, a therapeutic approach that uses soft, pliable balls to improve mobility, reduce tension, and restore ease of movement. Through mindful rolling, breath, and targeted techniques, you’ll learn how to work with your body – not against it- to support recovery, enhance body awareness, and move with greater freedom.

A Personal Note from Lucy:

“I love this work because, after years of injuries, pain, and tension, it gave me access to my own body again. I learned how to listen to the signals my body was already giving me, to integrate that information, and to find both relief and lasting improvement.
My trainer Jill always says, ‘your body thinks in feels,’ and through the Roll Model Method I’ve learned how to respond to those signals and give my body what it needs.
This practice gave me back what I needed most – agency.”

Why should you care about your fascia (and why softer is better)?

Fascia plays a key role in how you move and feel. When it becomes stiff, dehydrated, or restricted- often from stress, injury, or repetitive habits – you may experience pain, tension, or limited mobility.
Working with your fascia can help improve movement, reduce discomfort, enhance body awareness, and support both physical and nervous system recovery.
The goal of self-myofascial release is not to force change, but to soothe your tissues – encouraging them to return to a balanced, responsive state that’s both relaxed and ready for action.

Time to retire your hard foam rollers, tennis balls, and golf balls:

It doesn’t have to hurt to work. In fact, the more you push or “grind” into your tissues, the more your body responds with a protective bracing reflex-creating tension, irritation, and a feeling of being even more stuck. Excessive pressure from hard tools can increase this response, making tissues less receptive to change. Softer, more adaptable tools work with your body rather than against it, allowing your nervous system to relax and your tissues to respond more effectively – supporting more sustainable results.

Your soft tissues love a soft tool!
