Class Description Janan Laubscher
In this class we focus on breath technique, correct alignment & muscle strengthening. We practice a conscious flow of movement at a calm pace, improving our body mind awareness. As we move through foundational Pilates exercises, we notice where we can relax the body into the mat and where we must engage. An all levels Pilates class.
Class Description Layton Lachman
This Pilates class is rooted in experiential anatomy, somatics, and a dynamic approach to the BASI Pilates Mat repertoire. Participants will move through the exercises accompanied by visualization, breath and tactile cues, and precise attention to alignment. Based on building body awareness and coordination, we will also pay attention to flow and mobilizing our bodies so that we feel stronger, more centered, and energized through the pleasure of moving. The class is suitable for all levels of Pilates experience. We will focus on training strength, mobility, and balance in order to build new functional patterns of movement awareness that can be used in everyday life.
Class Description Yuko Matsuyama
This Pilates-based training is designed for dancers and advanced movers. The training begins with conditioning workouts and warm-up exercises. The use of a slow, full breathing pattern provides easy access to the core abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. We will then practice more dynamic strength exercises based on the classic Pilates Mat-exercises from Joseph Pilates. Throughout the training, we direct our attention to breathing, learning to synchronize the breath with physical movement. This training aims to eliminate muscle strength imbalances, to improve flexibility, core-stabilization, and energy flow.
