Yuko is a performing artist (vocal and dance) and Pilates-based physical trainer. She started performing professionally in 1989, she performed at countless productions; musical, revue, opera and drama. Since her move to Berlin, she’s been exploring experimental music, improvisation and Tanztheater. In 2017 she received a master’s degree in choreography at the HZT Berlin.
Teaching Pilates has been her important practice for observing movement and integrating the mind, body and spirit.
Class description Pilates
This Pilates-based training is designed for dancers and advanced movers. The training begins with conditioning workouts and warm-up exercises. The use of a slow, full breathing pattern provides easy access to the core abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. We will then practice more dynamic strength exercises based on the classic Pilates Mat-exercises from Joseph Pilates. Throughout the training, we direct our attention to breathing, learning to synchronize the breath with physical movement. This training aims to eliminate muscle strength imbalances, to improve flexibility, core-stabilization, and energy flow.
