Bio

Born in Australia and trained with the New Zealand School of Dance. Craig is an international guest choreographer, teacher and rehearsal director. During his dance career he performed as a Soloist with the Finnish National Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Tanz Luzerner Theater and the Semperoper Ballett Dresden. During this time he performed leading roles in the classical and contemporary repertoire as well as working with choreographers William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Mats Ek, Christian Spuck, David Dawson, Jacapo Godani, Jorma Elo and Nicolo Fonte. He has created works and re-staged existing pieces as a choreographer on companies such as West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Ballett Zürich Junior Company, Ballett Dortmund, Slovakian National Ballet, Finnish National Ballet Youth Company, Tulsa Ballet, Atlanta Ballet and Ballet Idaho. As a guest teacher he has worked with Ballett Basel, Ballett Bern, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Luzerner Theatre, Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin and Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. He has been invited as a teacher and choreographer for ARTof workshops in Madrid and Zürich and this year he will be one of the guest workshop leaders at the 9th Biennale Tanzausbildung 2024 München.

Class Description

The main focus of the class will be on musicality, dynamic approach of movement quality and co-ordination while maintaining and allowing the freedom of dance in an open and approachable way for all to be involved. The class is aimed at both classical and contemporary dancers.
