Bio

Tamara received eight years of professional dance education in modern and contemporary at Ballettgymnasium Essen Werden, the Hogeschool voor Muziek en Dans – Rotterdamse Dansacademie as well as the Berlin dance accademy Balance 1 – school of contemporary dance. Her work as a professional dancer and choreographer since 1999 includes colaborations with Anja Hempel, Ashley Abrahams, Gisela Müller, Helge Musial, Ingrid Hammer, Joseph Tmim, Ludger Orlok, Sommer Ulrickson and Uta Sander. For eleven years she was a permanent member of the ensemble at Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall.

With her dance partner Anna Widmer she founded the duo “Brücken & Widmer”. They performed their shows all over Germany as well as at international festivals. In 1996 Tamara started to teach movement and dance. For ten years she teached modern and contemporary dance as part of the professional education programe of Ballet Centrum Berlin. Currently she is a teacher at Berlin Metropolitan School as well as in three kindergartens. Since 2014 she is a graduated dance therapist, certified by Tanztherapiezentrum Berlin.

Creative Dance for Children

Even the youngest children are introduced to the basic forms of dance, in a playful way. Through imaginative play, bringing in all the senses, a path to dance expression is opened. Musicality, coordination, flexibility, spatial awareness, concentration and the joy of movement are conveyed through stories and games. Through body perception, differentiation of movement quality and form, creative children’s dance creates a basis for learning dance elements even in the smallest children.

Contemporary Dance for Children

On this course, children come into contact with various elements of contemporary dance. Standing, floor and movement exercises develop coordination, flexibility and a feel for rhythm. Improvisation and the composition of short movement sequences are also part of this class. There are regular performances, the themes of which are developed together on the course so that the children’s own ideas and suggestions provide the basis for the dance pieces they present.
