Bio

Giorgia Bovo is an Italian-born dance artist, former New Yorker and current Berlin resident. She is a dancer, choreographer and self-taught filmmaker. While in NY, she worked with Armitage Gone! Dance, The Metropolitan Opera, Pigeonwing Dance, Indelible Dance and Rebecca Kelly Ballet touring in the US, Europe and Asia. In Berlin, she danced at Deutsche Oper Berlin for several productions including Antikrist, Elektra, and Vêpres Siciliennes. She currently works with theater director Ersan Mondtag, theater collective Panzerkreuzer Rotkäppchen and installation artist Alida Sun. She was featured in music videos by Grammy Award winning band Pentatonix, Confidence Man, Chad Valley and Reggie Watts. She choreographed for Indelible Dance Company (NYC), Joffrey Ballet School (NYC), e-Luminate Festival (UK), Officine Caos (IT), Periapsis Music and Dance (NYC). She is a two times recipient of the Dis-Tanz-Solo fund for her research on choreography and film and her films were screened at IDACO NYC and Quinzena de Dança de Almada (PT). Giorgia is an ABT® Certified Teacher of the ABT® National Training Curriculum and she was a faculty member of The Joffrey Ballet School for 3 years. Other teaching credits include: Deutsche Oper Berlin, Center of Dance, Peridance NYC, Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance company class, Rebecca Kelly Ballet company class, NYC Community Ballet. She trained on a full scholarship at Scuola del Balletto di Toscana (IT). www.giorgiabovo.com

Class description

The class focuses on what each body needs from the inside, rather than what the body looks like from the outside. The goal is to find alignment, body awareness and the technical tools that are truly helpful for all different dance styles. Dancers of all backgrounds are welcome.
