Workshopbeschreibung
Inspired by dance makers, theatre directors, circus performers and visual artists, my multi-faceted approach looks at movement and creativity through numerous different lenses. I believe that dance and theatre really become whole by exploring what it means to be human. Through noticing, reacting, interacting and questioning, I try and bring the mundane, or the everyday, into conversation with the dramatic and the abstract. I often use drawing and sculpture as well as movement and voice to explore and better understand who we are as people and creative individuals. Through games, scenarios and improvisations I hope to bring back a child-like sense of fascination, sensitivity and possibility to our craft and the world around us.
Each workshop day will begin with a drawing task and a guided warm-up. We will look at ways to tune into and listen to the self as well as the rest of the group. From here we will work both alone and in small groups – playing games, developing stories and exploring theatrical possibilities through the moving body.
