The last day of the year is a special moment. Before the celebrations begin, we take time to pause, breathe and arrive. What has moved us this year? What can we let go of, and what do we want to take with us?

Through breath and movement, we make space to let the old year settle in the body and to step into the new one feeling open, awake and grounded. A small ritual for the turn of the year, a nourishing way to begin before the festivities start.

This workshop brings together two approaches that complement each other well.

The Perceptible Breath (Der Erfahrbare Atem) by Ilse Middendorf invites us to let the breath come and go without controlling it. Through attention, presence and simple exercises while sitting, standing and moving, we sense where and how the breath finds space in the body. It becomes something we can feel as a source of calm and aliveness.

SoulMotion is a mindful, free-form movement practice to music. There are no set steps. We follow what wants to move in the moment and explore our connection to ourselves, to others and to the shared space.

Together, they open a path from sensing to moving: movement grows out of the breath, on your own, in contact with others and as a group. A movement that begins entirely with you.

No previous experience needed.
Participants of “SoulMotion-inspired: Breath and Movement after Middendorf” are just as welcome as anyone new to this work.
Please wear comfortable clothes.
