Bio
Ulian Topor is a teacher, and coach with an extensive professional career spanning leading European ballet institutions and international stages. A former Demi soloist with Staatsballett Berlin, he has performed a wide range of classical Solo roles and contemporary repertoire and has worked with renowned choreographers including Vladimir Malakhov, Alexei Ratmansky, Patrice Bart, Nacho Duato, Heinz Spoerli, Boris Eifman, William Forsythe, Yuri Burlaka, and others.
Ulian began his professional training at the State School Chisinau in Moldova, before continuing his studies at the Konservatorium in Vienna and the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, where he graduated with honors.
His professional career includes engagements with Jeune Ballet de France, Ballet Zürich, and Staatsballett Berlin, where he progressed to the rank of demi-soloist. He has performed on prominent stages including the Paris Opera, Bolshoi Theatre, Warsaw Theatre, and Théâtre du Châtelet…
Alongside his performing career, Ulian has developed a strong passion for teaching, coaching, and mentorship. He has served as a mentor, teacher, ballet master, and rehearsal director within the Staatsballett Berlin Mentorship Program and has assisted choreographic projects for Labworks.
A certified pedagogue in the Vaganova methodology, Ulian combines his professional stage experience with a structured and individual approach to classical ballet training. His teaching focuses on developing strong-Elegant technique, musicality, artistry, character, and a deeper understanding of ballet repertoire.
His achievements include First Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Vienna, First Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Luxembourg, and Third Prize at the International Ballet Competition in Varna.
Class Description
A ballet class where we work on technique through exploring character, elegance, and seamless transition of movement. Through expressive port de bras, refined epaulement, and coordinated use of the upper body, we develop lightness, fluidity, and a strong sense of character in every movement.
