Workshop

In this holiday workshop for children aged 10–13, we work creatively while learning technical elements of contemporary dance. Through freestyle, improvisation, and structured exercises, participants explore floorwork, acrobatics, lifts, rolls, turns, and jumps. The focus is on moving freely, expansively, and expressively.
Throughout the workshop, the group develops a contemporary choreography together with Chiara around a specific theme. Technical elements are creatively integrated and reworked, and the children are encouraged to contribute and develop their own ideas.
The workshop concludes with a short showing, where parents, family, and friends are invited to see the created choreography.

Chiara Schmiedel

Chiara completed her bachelor’s degree in Dance in Education at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem in 2022. She then continued her training in Barcelona, dancing with the young company FREE BODIES under the direction of Nadine Gerspacher.

Since 2024, she has been working as a freelance dancer and dance educator in Berlin and has presented her solo Weiße Lilien on various stages and festivals. She performs as a guest dancer with the performance collective Collapsetofraction and won first prize at DANCE SLAM vol. 03 for improvisation.

Chiara teaches contemporary dance for different age groups and places strong emphasis on the connection between emotion, expression, and physical strength. A key focus of her pedagogical work is the creative development of children and youth in dance theatre. Since 2026, she has been leading the KidsCompany at Papillon Tanz Studios. She also teaches emotional expression, improvisation, and floorwork, understanding dance as an art form rooted in energy creation, play, feeling, and limitless imagination.
