Workshop

Lucy teaches a structured contemporary technique class that combines influences from modern, contemporary, and jazz dance, with a strong emphasis on musicality, the use of focus, and the exploration of different movement qualities.

The class moves from a guided warm-up into exercises for footwork, pliés, and spinal articulation, and concludes with a longer choreography and/or jumps, building on the themes explored throughout the session.

Students are encouraged to deepen their practice through curiosity and connection, to trust their technical foundation, and to move beyond what they already know — both physically and in the expression of their artistry — while finding joy in dancing.

Lucy Kallenbach

Lucy is a freelance dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher based in Berlin, Germany. She received her professional dance training in Berlin and continued her studies at ElMagatzem Escola de Dansa in Barcelona, Spain, where she completed her education. Prior to her professional dance training, Lucy competed as a gymnast with her team Suebia Gymnastics, performing in Germany and internationally. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland.

Over the years, Lucy has worked closely with Charlotte Landreau (former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company) to deepen her understanding and training in modern dance technique. She has received extensive training in the Weissmann technique, working with Heidi Weiss and Jennifer Mann, and completed the Weissmann Teacher Training Programme, for which she was awarded a scholarship.

In Barcelona, Lucy worked with choreographers such as Natàlia Vinyes, Albert Garrell, Susana Rodríguez, Joaquín Collado, and Jacob Gomez, performing in works such as Somnis Només and Cinderella.

Continuing her choreographic research, Lucy has created solo works that have been performed in Germany, Spain, and Italy. In recent years, she has increasingly focused on musical theatre productions in Berlin and London.

Lucy is also certified in self-myofascial release (Roll Model Method®) and breathwork (Body by Breath®). She works as a fitness coach and trainer in studios such as Soho House, with private clients, and teaches open classes and workshops in Berlin and internationally.
